President: Elizabeth Rockowitz
Elizabeth Rockowitz is a Healthcare Executive that brings 20 years of healthcare IT experience in providing comprehensive information technology knowledge for innovative solutions that meet business, research, teaching and clinical objectives. She is accomplished in system project development, instructional design, revenue cycle optimization, performance improvement processes, application system development and leading multi-discipline teams. Prior to joining FIU, Liz worked for large academic medical centers to develop their healthcare academic and information technology solutions. Liz has served on several professional organizations' executive boards and has been a frequent speaker at numerous local and national conferences. Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems and Instructional Design. Ms. Rockowitz has earned numerous awards: CIO Magazine, 2007, "The Team Builder Stand Out Award Winner " CIO Magazine, 2007, "Ones to Watch Award" Computerworld, 2007, " The Computerworld Honors Program" - Healthcare Laureate.
President-Elect: Pua Cooper
Pua Cooper is a highly experienced nurse with over 26 years of leadership and clinical experience. She holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in Nursing Informatics. She currently serves as Chief Clinical Information Officer for Boca Raton Regional Hospital where she is responsible for the operations of the Informatics department of this 400-bed academic facility. In this capacity, she uses her understanding of clinical practice to leverage technology to improve patient outcomes. In 2014, her team was recognized as one of eight national finalists in McKesson’s Distinguished Achievement Award for the innovative use of technology to advance care. In 2015, she was formally recognized as a Senior HIMSS Member and is the President Elect for the South Florida Chapter. At the national HIMSS level, she participates in the Nursing Informatics Executive Work Group and the Clinical Insights Editorial Committee where she has authored several articles for the publication. She has been a speaker at various local and national conferences including: HIMSS 2016, South Florida Organization of Nursing Executives (SFONE), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HMFA), and the Nursing Consortium of South Florida.
President Emeritus: Karen Ondo
Karen Ondo has 30+ years healthcare experience ranging from VP/CIO of a multi-entity IDN (49 sites), vendor and now Executive Vice President, KLAS Enterprises, a market research and intelligence firm specializing in healthcare IT performance monitoring. FHIMSS, HIMSS Board of Directors; national/international speaker.
Treasurer: Jorge Rey
Jorge Rey is the Director of Information Security and Compliance at Kaufman, Rossin & Co., one of the largest independent accounting firms in Florida and one of the top CPA firms in the country. Recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as one of top professionals under the age of 40, he is responsible for managing and performing a variety of information security assessments, SOC /SysTrust reports for companies in the financial services, healthcare, and technology industries. He is a frequent lecturer and has been quoted or featured in many major publications including CIO, ComplianceWeek, The Miami Herald, ComputerWorld, Healthcare Fraud, and others.
Jorge helps organizations ranging from startups to large public and privately held companies address information security, compliance and IT needs. He brings notable experience in security audits, HIPAA/HITECH compliance, technology, vendor management and cloud computing to his clients. He serves on the South Florida HIMSS board and is past Chairman of the ARMA Palm Beach Treasure coast. Jorge is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT). He holds a master's degree in Information Technology from Nova Southeastern University and a certificate in Administration of Information Security, recognized by the National Security Agency (NSA).

Kendall Brown, Healthcare Solutions Advisor, has more than 15 years experience in the healthcare technology industry. Her healthcare experience spans a broad range of disciplines from patient safety to Electronic Medical Record/Practice Management Systems and health insurance and pharmaceutical sectors. Her professional career has includes Sales and Marketing, Product Management, Project Management and Account Management. She enjoys closing deals, developing new business ventures, solution-selling, networking and adding input to the direction of any company she works for. Kendall’s forte is delivering “proof of concept” sales presentations to Senior-level audiences at hospital and healthcare organizations. She works well on her own, as well as in teams. Her track history includes selling, implementing and up-selling the highest revenue generating clients. Kendall works to ensure things don’t fall through the cracks, and follows up to ensure they’re done properly and on time. She’s driven to reach her goals and quota. Her selling style is authoritative and assertive and she is an expert in product knowledge. She is eager to discuss the possibilities of selling technical or specialized products. Kendall is a member and serves as a leader of many organizations such as: The Junior League of Miami, National Society Daughters of American Revolution, American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, IT Women, Women in Technology Institute, Women’s Healthcare Executive Network, Healthcare Information Management Systems Society and Healthcare Finance Management Association. Hobbies include Yoga, Stand Up Paddle boarding, and Traveling abroad (last vacation was Sydney Australia and Queenstown New Zealand).
Chapter Advocate: Erik Pupo
Erik serves as a Managing Director in the Accenture Health Client Service Group, where he works as part of the leadership within the Clinical and Health Management Services team. Erik develops and leads strategic and technological transformational initiatives for a diverse portfolio of clients in the healthcare provider, payer and life sciences industries. In this capacity, he partners with senior client executives to develop and execute strategies for IT investment decisions, strategic roadmaps and business transformation programs in support of population health, care management, value based care, and interoperability initiatives. Erik works directly with a range of clients such as Experian Health, Albany Medical Center and Aetna, and has previously worked with AHIP Institute before on numerous leadership discussions with payers on critical technology topics.
Erik has worked for over 20 years in healthcare, including senior positions in federal, state, and commercial healthcare programs and initiatives, and served in key leadership roles within the healthcare community. He holds leadership advisory positions within the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), and regularly speaks at industry conferences on trends influencing the healthcare industry. Previously, he worked at Deloitte where he led several health IT initiatives for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA).
After graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelors of Finance in 1997 and a Bachelors of Arts in History in 1998, he received his MBA from Lynn University in 2004. He received a certification in the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems (CHPIMS) in 2009 and became a HIMSS Fellow in 2012.

Janine Pratt is a high energy team oriented Healthcare Information Technology professional with 19 years of experience providing strong leadership implementing enterprise information technology systems. Expertise identifying resources required to build cross functional multi-specialty project teams providing solutions which meet business and clinical objectives while establishing strong vendor relationships. Raphael Ruiz, Associate CIO/AVP at Mount Sinai Medical Center, has over 18 years of leadership experience with 13 of those years dedicated to the health care field. He attained his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida International University and went on to earn his Master's degree in Business Administration specializing in Management from the University of Miami. Prior to joining Mount Sinai Medical Center in 2011, Raphael served in various Information Technology leadership and consultancy roles at local organizations such as Florida Power and Light, Ryder Systems, and Xcelerate Corporation. In the health care field, he most recently served in several Information Technology and operations leadership roles at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, HCA East Florida Division offices and Kendall Regional Medical Center.

DaNika Robinson provides administrative support services to small businesses and nonprofit organizations that do not have a full time need. She has been serving the South Florida HIMSS Chapter providing executive level administrative support services, more recently as webmaster. DaNika holds an Associate in Business Administration, Bachelor in Business Administration, and Master in Public Administration.

Anita Wilson is the Administrative Director, IT Clinical Operations for Miami Children's Hospital, one of the nation's premier organizations focused on providing premier care for children. Anita received her Bachelor's degree from Vanderbilt University and Master's in Nursing Administration from the University of San Diego. Ms. Wilson has spent over 20 years in healthcare and information technology, first as a pediatric nurse and later as a healthcare IT leader. She holds numerous IT and healthcare certifications including Certified Healthcare CIO, (CHCIO), Fellow in HIMSS (FHIMSS), and Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Technology (CPHIMS). Ms. Wilson is also actively involved in professional organizations including CHIME and HIMSS.

Monica Chiarini Tremblay is the Department Chair of the Information Systems and Business Analytics Department and an Associate Professor at Florida International University College of Business.
Dr. Tremblay’s research has focused on data science and barriers to technology adoption in the healthcare context. Some of her publications appear in Journal of American Medical Informatics, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality, Communications of the AIS. In 2012, Dr. Tremblay was elected as one of FIU Top Scholars. She is the principal investigator on several federal and state grants in the area of Health IT and analytics and a study session member for the HITR section of Agency Healthcare Research Quality (NIH). Dr. Tremblay serves as a Senior Editor of the Production and Operations Management (POM) Journal, Health Systems Journal and Decision Sciences Journal.
Dr. Tremblay teaches courses in designing health information systems, data warehousing and data mining. She is frequently invited as an expert panelist in the area of Data Analytics and Health Informatics for international, industry, and academic conferences.
